Why we love this bottle

The Troisi family of Vadiaperti has been championing the wines of Irpinia — the hilly interior of Campania — since the late 19th century. The patriarch Antonio emigrated to New York and established one of the first Italian wine import companies there, focused on the whites of his home region. His grandson Raffaele, who holds a chemistry degree, took over the winemaking in the mid-1990s. The estate is now officially called Traerte, though the Vadiaperti name still appears on the label.

We love it because Greco di Tufo is one of Italy’s most underrated white grapes, and this is one of its most serious expressions.
