Why we love this bottle

Thistle and Weed was founded in 2015 by winemaker Stephanie Wiid and viticulturist Etienne Terblanche, two families with a shared obsession: finding extraordinary vineyard parcels in the Cape and staying out of the way once they do.

Every wine is named after a weed found in the vineyards, using its Afrikaans name. The parallel is deliberate: weeds are resilient, uncompromising and often overlooked. So are the best old vineyards in the Cape.

We love it because this is one of the most precise and honest addresses for Chenin Blanc in South Africa.
