Why we love this bottle

Tissot is the family that defined what Jura wine could be. Stéphane took over from his parents in 1990, converted everything to biodynamics by 2004, and built a range that stands as the clearest expression of what Arbois can do. En Spois is described by critics as the most elegant and approachable of his single-vineyard Vin Jaunes.  We love it because great Vin Jaune is unlike anything else in the world, and this is a great Vin Jaune.

Vin Jaune is one of the most unusual wines in the world: Savagnin aged for at least six years and three months in barrels not topped up, developing under a flor yeast veil similar to fino Sherry. En Spois is Tissot's finest single-vineyard Vin Jaune from south-facing Triassic marl soils. Deep gold. Walnut, curry, dried citrus peel and beeswax. The palate is taut and saline with remarkable tension and a finish that goes on for what feels like minutes.
