Why we love this bottle

Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso is one of the key native reds of Friuli, known for its dark fruit and firm structure, and Russolo treats it with a steady, traditional hand. The vineyards sit in the eastern part of the region, where cooler nights help keep the fruit focused even in warmer years. The winemaking is calm and restrained — long élevage, measured extraction and no attempt to soften the grape’s natural grip too much.

This Riserva shows the variety in a clear, grounded way: dark berries, savoury notes and tannins that have real shape without becoming heavy. It feels solid and controlled, with depth that builds gradually rather than all at once.
