Why we love this bottle

Côte du Py is the heart of Morgon, a hill of dark volcanic schist that gives Gamay a depth and tension you don’t find anywhere else in Beaujolais. Jean Foillard has been one of the key figures in showing how serious this terroir can be, working with old vines, careful farming and a touch so gentle that nothing gets in the way of the fruit.

His wines are known for their clarity and precision: pure red fruit, fine structure and a mineral line that runs straight through the palate. Even in a ripe year, Foillard keeps everything fresh, lifted and effortlessly elegant.

We love this bottle because it captures the essence of Morgon without forcing power. It’s refined, energetic and incredibly detailed, the kind of wine that opens slowly and rewards patience. A benchmark in its category, and a reminder of how far Gamay can go when the vineyard and the winemaker are perfectly aligned.
